I have a 95 2wd 2.3l I purchased from my dad. The engine was bad when I got it so I replaced and did several fluid changes and the trans and filter change was one. When i get it back on the road the trans is slipping, according to my dad now it has always done that, her forgot to mention it to me,, I put some lucas stop slip/hard shifting additive and that helped a lot.

I have about 300 mi on everything and I go to take my son to the bus stop this morning and let it warm up for about 10 min. When we get there I go to back up and the o/d light starts flashing. I figure to save him any embarrassment I will look at it after he is on the bus. He gets on and I go to back up from where I am and there is a very rough idle. I put it in drive and it goes just fine no problem except the blinking o/d light. I go to back up the driveway and rough idle. With the rough idle the truck does not go the same speed in reverse as it used to.

I am at a total loss here what I have done, any ideas?

I have heard that the flashing light means that it will not shift into overdrive but I could be wrong. I do think that it is time for a rebuild.

 

I agree completely. I just need this to last as long as possible. update this morning I let it warm up and took my son to the bus stop and not a problem at all. its like its toying with me ha ha you have to have me rebuilt after all the hard work u just gave me. o nevermind im just kidding everything is fine. well i am not laughing ranger, not at all
