3.0 on 35's with 4.56 or 4.88?

obviously you have never done real mud bogging or seen big snow.....I never said a 4wd has more weight than a 2wd in the *** end, and your wrong, if there is a foot of snow on the road he is ganna spin out, i figured someone who has a picture of snow for his avatar would know that, 2wd with bigger tires and gears doesn't mean he won't spin out.......wait maybe a 4cyl with 35's bc it wouldn't have enough power to turn the damn things in order to spin out

Look kids. The point is that 35s on a 2WD is pointless.
Maybe he wants a lifted look. So do I. No biggee. Lots of lifted 2WDs on here. But they run 33s at the most. Heck, most of the 4x4s on here don't run 35s.
With the cost of 35s, the lack of actual off-roading you will be doing, and the cost of the tires and the regearing it's just not worth it OP. Go 33s and be down with it. If you want to do anything after that swap in a 31-spline 8.8. Since you are a 3.0 you MOST LIKELY (not positively) have a 7.5 and running big tires on a 7.5 is a no, no. And regearing a 7.5 is also a waste.

You're from Ohio. You offroad in Corn dude. Also, if he has 35s he's much less likely to spin out than if he has "stock size" tires. Big tires definitely are better traction, especially in deep snow. He's from Florida though, why does he care about snow at all? If he wants the look of 35s then he should get an 8.8 in the rear and regear it if his truck is 3.0. Obviously it's not the route I'd take, I'm 4x4 double lifted and 4.0. But once again, if its the look he wants it's best.
And 35s look worlds better than 33s. ****, I never even had 33s, I want 37s now.
All I'm saying is if he wants 35s they'll look great. I'm more about the looks of my truck than the offroad capability. Because it's my DD.

first of all, we harvest corn, we don't offroad in it, good try though. You still don't get what i'm saying. I'm saying why waste all the money for 35's and re-gear for extra traction, when you could just use that money for a 4x4 with double the traction. point......
It's all different levels for anyone. Anyways, he's not regearing for traction. He's regearing so it's comfortable to drive. Re-gearing won't really make a difference at all when it comes to traction.
To sum it up since you aren't getting it through your head, he's doing this because he thinks it will look good and moderately help him offroad. He does't care about 4wd, he cares about improving what he has.

So how come you're defending this guy for doing what he wants but you had no problem telling the one guy that towing mirrors was a terrible idea. At least Superdookie is consistent in telling people he doesn't like their ideas.
#33
Apples to Oranges, dude. It's called an opinion and I don't need to be consistent. For example, I think your truck is gay. So is master at arms. But not superdookies or mine or Tys. Hows that for consistency?

As far as comparing 2WDs to 4x4s, SAS Rangers to Jeeps. It is relative and you are right. Ty is also right in that sense. It's his truck and he can do what he wants. I can't say "don't do something it doesn't make sense" because I have a 10 year old 2WD 4 cylinder with 3 times as much money in it as it is worth. I'd be a hypocrite. I just think that for that logically, for what he wants, he is going about it incorrectly.
But seriously Aaron, you are taking this to a personal level that is unnecessary. We are talking about regearing here. Not opinions and consistency. We can argue forever but insults are pointless.
And yes, he should put in an 8.8 or risk breaking an axle shaft with 35s.
And we mud in Ohio. No trails. Flat land. No dunes or sand. But lots of swamps and marches.

Your a dumb ****, I never told him not to do it, Your going so far off from what i said that you look stupid, your like a little kid trying to argue with me. I didn't care about where he lived, or even about him. What i said was it's a waste of money. Get off my case. And if your ganna start the SAS vs IFS go ahead. Bc IFS is used on one of the most badass all-terrain vehicles in the world. That's an Army Hummer. And don't put words in my mouth and say that I said SAS was crap. Bc SAS is awesome. But since you don't seem to get it through your thick skull, i'm sayin that IFS is just as good as SAS, they both have their ups and downs.

Thank you, I was never ******* on what he was doing , I just said why waste the money on all that when you can have 4x4. Who knows, maybe he would agree. But it turned into a arguement and he was a jackass to me. Yes I was just as much of a jackass back to him. but it got blown out of proportion.
