2008 has rear disc from factory?

Was it something from Ford, or something a dealership made? If it is something a dealership typed up, you can pretty much be sure it is wrong. I have seen dealers say things like "inline V6" in their ads before. Truth be told, a lot of them have no idea what they are selling. Odds are they meant four wheel ABS or something.

And yeah, that is definitely just another dealer that doesn't know WTF they are talking about.

If there are discs, are they 7.5 axles or 8.8 axles? This is starting to get interesting. If nothing else, conversion kits for them just got a lot cheaper. This is pretty big news IMO.
I'll get with my contact for Ford OEM stuff and see if he can dig into this. It would HAVE to share components from another vehicle.

No production Ranger has ever come with rear discs. The 2008 Rangers at the local dealer here have rear drums - I looked.
Yes, the Ford Website contradicts itself and says 4W discs in one place and disc/drum in another. This is just a mistake made by some marketing weenie who probably doesn't know the difference.
As far as the dealer flyer goes, I wouldn't trust the accuracy of anything it says.
You can check the standard and optional equipment in the 2008 Ranger Dealer Ordering Guide. It says that 2008 Rangers are disc/drum/4WABS standard and lists no option for 4 wheel discs.
