Valve guides replacement

Idk if this is the right place to ask this but wanted to see if anyone has replace valve guides themselves or do you actually have to take it to a machine shop.

Welcome to the forum

Yes, you can DIY valve guides, there are a few videos on how to do it
The new valve guides are often not "centered" so need to be drilled or reemed
You have to put in new valve seats as well so you also have to do a "valve job", i.e. grinding new seats to match valve angles

On aluminum heads it can be better to have a shop do it, aluminum is softer and much less forgiving than cast iron was, so you can ruin a head
