Yes, you can DIY valve guides, there are a few videos on how to do it
The new valve guides are often not "centered" so need to be drilled or reemed
You have to put in new valve seats as well so you also have to do a "valve job", i.e. grinding new seats to match valve angles
On aluminum heads it can be better to have a shop do it, aluminum is softer and much less forgiving than cast iron was, so you can ruin a head
