Relocating a PCV valve?
#2
The best way to change this valve and clean the oil separator is to combine the job with other work that is likely needed.
I changed my PCV valve while doing valve cover gaskets and replacing the intake manifold.
With the intake off, changing the PCV valve and cleaning the oil separator is a very easy job.
Normally the PCV hoses and rubber elbow will get old and collapse before the valve gets clogged.
The only mod I can think of that may work is to gut the old PCV valve reinstall it with the keeper, then install the new PCV valve inline with adapters and clamps as needed.
The hose could be made longer and rerouted around the intake giving much better access to the relocated valve.
If there is a short term or long term side effect of relocating the PCV valve I couldn't say.
In my opinion it would not be worth the effort or risk of reducing the effectiveness of the oil separator.
