Cleaning Tinted Windows
Well i'm probably getting my windows tinted this weekend so i wanted to make sure that when i clean them, i'm doing it right... So i looked online and found that vinegar + water works well especially when drying with newspaper as opposed to paper towels. If my tint will be fine doing it this way, i'll probably be doing that instead of paying 5.00 a bottle of whatever. I also know that whatever you clean them with shouldnt have ammonia in it. What do you guys use?

Is that invisible glass even worth it? And when i get my windows tinted i will call up our local detailer :D and see what he recommends to use and i will bring up that H2O + vinegar mix and i know about that newspaper thing. And what kind mix ratio is this mix? 50/50?

The place where phil got his tint, the owner is a friend of my mom's boyfriend. And judging after the tint he got on his truck, I would have to say i believe that its the quality. His tint lasted very long and didnt turn purple or fade at all. He used many differnt products, but mostly just water ( I hear that is best). However, my mom used to have a Mazda Mx3 and she got it from my uncle who had the tint done in virginia. The tint was very bad quality, and turned purple within weeks. I would definetly have to say that quality counts when getting tint, not the products you use. But from what i can tell just plain water and a soft cloth is the best!

I've never used just water, or mild soap and water on my tint before, but I do use the Stoner's Invisible Glass stuff. It isn't very expensive and should last for a long time. I got some tiny ***** of mud stuck in between where the window rolls down in and found out about it the hard way. I had dirt smeared all over my driver's side window. I used Stoner's on it and it cleaned it up nicely. It's probably the only thing I will ever use and trust on tinted windows.

They gave me a bottle of stuff when I got mine done and I still have plent of it. They told me I could water down the stuff they gave me when its half full. They also told me I could use vinegar + water when I run out. I mean how often do you really need to clean your windows if you mix up a bottle of vinegar + water you should be able to keep that a long time.
