will an radio install kit from a 1997 fit my 1999?

will an radio install kit from a 1997 fit my 1999?
have the chance to get a cheap cd player and it has the install kit and wiring from a 1997 ranger. Will it go into my 1999 with the same install kits?

doubtful......i think in '99 is when they switched to the "world plug"....
