thats good and very rare to find. i would not doubt that its tuned good. which could have been tuned for the boost on or off. only you can hear if its clipping (its very distinct tone change) It could have been tuned to match up with the front speakers which, it should have been if they where worried about sound quality. or acould have just tuned it for maximum output w/wout the boost on you don't really know. you just have to look and listen your self. see if the tone changes at a certain point on the boost on a loud song that hits in the 40-50hz range

im not sure how high your rockford amps boost goes but it might be less then normal so 75% really is hard to tell what your boost db actually is.. even then your signal wont always be clipped (music is recorded at all different levels.) sub can handle some clip usually.unless, it exceeds its thermal capacity. also better amps and equipment will putout a non clipped signal to a point. as long as the its not being over driven. rockfords are known to have a quality boost function. i didn't say bass boost was all bad but generally it gets abused when trying to get maximum output from a sub. especially if the sub and box are not up to par.

3 or 4 batts, lots of KUN 1/0 and a H/O alt will do the trick.
less is more man. i can almost guarantee you could accomplish the same spl from a smaller more efficient/ much cheaper set up.. no batts or alt needed. just a well built/tuned box and a good sub/amp combo. I think any kid could just add more crap and have more dbs. its the ones who do it without spending very much are the talented ones..

Ive personally have an education in electronics how about you? and electricity. Ive built a damn amplifier from scratch... i know that you don't just gain wattage from an amplifier without giving up something.
What does it prove if you built an amp? You were able to follow some instructions and you know how to solder? Congrats! Totally irrelevant to this. And because you may have taken a class or something on electronics that is also irrelevant. You're just some idiot who finds something online written by someone and takes it the wrong way and then trys to force others into believing your little theory. Go on realm of excursion or something and post this little new found discovery you seem to have come up with and get laughed at.

im looking for 150+dbs so yeah this is a good way to go. 2 18" custom PSI subs and a Stetsom 5k2d will hit 150+dbs in a 14 cube box at 30 hertz.

what does it prove.. it proves that i at least have a clue of what im talking about..a credential.
have you ever built a electromagnet? you would know that the more turns and smaller wire will make the strongest mag. if you only wraped a few times with large wire.. you would have a very weak mag if at all..(it would use tons of power and have low resistance). that applies to the electromagnet in subs... you seem to be spouting off a lot of bs and zero facts. everything im saying is a fact..

you cant tell me my sub isn't moving... at 8 ohms.. how do you explain that..

I didnt write the laws of physics, your talking me as if im making this **** up.

im sure people would laugh ,except for the ones that know how electricity works..

AHAHA i just joined realm of excursion... here was the first threat i read...Hope your ears are better than mine - Realm of Excursion

omg if thats any indicator of the intelligence on the forum then OMG LMFAO

"whats wrong with my expensive sub" hahaha! well dipsh!t you don't have it in a box and your feeding it tons of power.. most folks have the common knowledge that running a sub in free air reduces its power handling ..unless rated for it.

can't wait to find more dumb asses....

See how much bass you'll get out of that more efficient/cheaper system.

wow this has gotten a little outta hand...

all i can say is the original post makes scence.... however, im not seeing how you can openly argue and call people dumb and insult inteligance when MILLIONS of people have ran and built loud reliable systems like they have for many many years.

pop a xanax man, the world will go on living in the dark as long as it works...last i checked, it did

is that a question or a dare or something? just asking not trying to be a dick.

im not seeing how you can openly argue and call people dumb and insult inteligance when MILLIONS of people have ran and built loud reliable systems like they have for many many years.
Im a dick, when i see stupidity (stupidity pisses me off) I call it like it is... just because millions of people jump off bridges, would you? just cause millions of people believe there is a god. does that mean there is a god?

I only look at facts, i didn't post this for my health. you said you understood the post. but you can't understand why im getting frustrated when people are telling me im full of ****.

The root cause for this whole misunderstanding is because of marketing. and SPL competitions.. Im sure you've hear by now capacitors are worthless right? well they are not exactly worthless. when used during an SPL "Burp" they can add 1-2db only for a split second. thats all it takes to win is 1-2 dbs. are they good to have in a daily driver system NO. that little tid bit of info took a long time to spread over the net. (at one point everyone excepted caps as a must have) Its all misunderstandings.

Does no one understand my points im making?

Yes i get VERY frustrated when people tell me im full of ****.

It's a statement. People do these big systems for bass. We don't run .5 ohm for the best sound in the world.

Oh how i wish i could ... change the world of car audio, then i wouldn't have such a hard time finding a headunit that does 3 way active. eq and time alignment.

SOMEONE PROVE ME WRONG THEN... please please please... show me the way.

right, but why would you want that in a daily driver system? you can wire your **** down to .5 ohms when your in a competition. but why would you listen to that on a daily basis..

i could win an SPL competition with an air horn or a shotgun. its all about the SPL!

"it's all about the SPL!" that's YOUR opinion. It doesn't mean it's right. I could say it's all about the bass! But that doesn't prove anything and it's STILL and opinion that means nothing.
