Single din recommendations
Looking for a single din soon. Only requirements is it has a USB port. Nice display is a plus. Budget is 150-250.
Looking at this one, for the pandora feature. I stream pandora 90% of the time so that would be really nice. Not sure if I like the face plate though
Alpine IDA-X305S Digital media receiver at Crutchfield Signature
I like this one too
Kenwood Excelon KDC-X794 CD receiver at Crutchfield Signature
Looking for more specific recommendations instead of just a brand. No double din right now, don't need it.

I've been looking at Kenwood KIV-700 Digital media receiver at Crutchfield.com
Its out of your price range, but if you consider spending any more this is a good unit.
I guess you would stream Pandora through your phone?
But anyway just thought I'd show you what I'm getting

That one is in it, can get it for 250 at Amazon.
Amazon.com: Kenwood KIV-700 - Digital player with LCD monitor and radio: Electronics
Seems pretty nice, yeah I'll be streaming pandora. I'm thinking hard about that first Kenwood, I like how sleek it is.

Sony CDX-GT920U CD receiver at Crutchfield.com
back in my circuit city days, i ended up selling a lot of these, it has pretty much everything the average person would need. ipod ready, usb input in back, 4v preouts, 3 sets of rca outs, remote, hd ready, satellite radio ready, and an auxiliary input, and for a single din the screen is visually pretty cool.
The only thing i hate about sony is that weird double chime noise when you turn it off, other then that it was a pretty solid headunit.

with proper time alignment setup on the kenwood, it would sound better then the alpine. the alpine is much more ipod friendly though and does the pandora like you want.
the kenwood has more options when it comes to sound controls. the alpine can only beat it if you were to purchase the imprint processor with it.
I think you would be happy with the alpine. youll still get great sound from it and have all all of the stuff you know you want.
now if you had separate amps, component speakers and such I would say the kenwood. you would need all of sound shaping you can get.

Introducing the newest technologies from the heart and soul of kenwood research and development, the Kenwood KIV-700, the first cd player that doesn't play cds.
Kenwood, think outside the box.
lol, it does look pretty swanky though provided you dont plan on keeping your cds around.

I don't use CD's anymore, all my music is on my Ipod, thats the reason I chose that
It is a little odd it doesn't have one

As of right now the plan is a 10" Kicker CVT102 and a last years model (still new) Kicker 500 watt in a custom box. Not going for anything crazy or super high quality but I think that will do exactly what I want it too. I already have upgraded the speakers in all the doors about a year to go so I'm good to go in that department.

Yeah I am for right now. I don't think I'll have the sub up so high that it will overpower them. They're just mid-range 4-way Pioneers but IMO they sound fantastic powered off my old Pioneer F90BT. The Kenwood should have awesome sound control from what I've heard, if I do want to get more into it I should be able to stick with that headunit to do it. I'll probably move to components whenever these speakers call it quits but as of now I'm very happy with them.
