As the title says I got myself another Alpine head unit. Actually got it about a week ago but I haven't had enough time to do anything with my workload this semester. And I am still behind on a few things. Well I bought a 9831 as an open box. I got what was a 400 dollar deck for 140 with a 2 year warrenty. I think I can live with an open box like that. Anyway most of you know the specs on it. It plays MP3, has 3 pre-outs, i-personalize(which is crap), motorized tilt face, 512 colors for the buttons, and a whole lotta other goodies. I like it. I dunno if picks will happen or not depends if I get a min to myself for something other than sleeping this week.

 

512 colors? Which model did you get? How did you get a 400 dollar deck for 140 WITh the warranty?

 

The buttons light up any of 512 colors. It was the CDA-9831. It was an older model but I bought it as an open box. It was sweet but the mp3 player had issues and I returned it. I didn't feel like having to wait 2 weeks to have it repaired when I only had it two weeks. I settled for something else. I bought the CDA-9856 from crutchfield. It has a few less options but still has all the things I required. It has 3 preouts and plays mp3s. It also has bass level controls rather than the eq. The EQ is better but harder to adjust while going down the road since I listen to so many genres of music. Cost me a lil more but least it is a brand new unit not just sold as new. I just can't wait to get it in. There will be another new post once I get it in next weekend.
