Kicker Solo Baric 10 VS. CVX 10
What is the difference between the Kicker Solo baric S10L5-2 and the Kicker CVX10-2? other than the fact that one of them is round and the other is square, and that the CVX10 handles 600rms Vs. the solo barics 450rms. Which will provide the most bass? Which should I get? I plan on running 2, but im only getting 1 right now, cause I dont have enough $$ to get 2. They will be powered by a Kicker ZX750.1 mono amp. The reason for a 10" vs. a 12" is that 10s are just shallow enough that they should fit.

i'd go with the L5, which i actually have haha. it has the most surface area therefor more pressure, therefor more bass. if you do the CVX, that amp will be plenty, kicker rates there amps at like 12.5 volts. so 400 rms @ 12.5 volts will be plenty, then at 14.4 volts it'l bump up to like 475-500 rms...

A 10 plays the same notes as an 18. You can make that 12 sound really relaly good in the right box w/ the right install. Install is everything.
If you are playing 50hz, you hear 50hz. A 12 is no deeper than a 10. It may hit 32hz better, and LOUDER at 32 hz, but they both play it.
Not to be the ***** of the group, it's just such a misconception that 12's are deeper than 10's. Of course they will hit lower notes louder, but they are not "deeper" at say 50hz.

Now that I've had my L5 for a close to two weeks, I can honestly say that it bangs so much freakin' harder than my Rockford P2 (duh, I know). Still, that one L5 is crazy in a sealed box getting 600w @ 2 Ohms.
I don't know too much beyond the CVX line other than what has been stated already- they are more comparable with the L7 Solobaric subs because I believe they handle more power.
I assume these subs are ok in a sealed box? It seems like high-end subs sometimes are engineered to be in ported boxes which doesn't always work so well in a pickup because of size restrictions. Someone else might chime in on how the L7 or CVX does in a smallish sealed box that you would use in your single cab.
So to finally answer your question, I'd go with the L7. The Solobaric subs are just loud!
edit: and the cone area of the L7 10 will be close to a normal, round 12".
