I've had this kenwood for going on 6 years now and yesterday I think was the end of its life. I was driving home hauling some couches and my radio shut off then came back on. I didnt think anything of was concentrating on the road. Then I got a phone call so I hit the mute button and nothing. So I tried the volume: nothing so I look at it and my display is out and no buttons respond. There is only one light on and its glowing over to the display. So tonight after work I decide to take the face plate off and put it back on and now nothing happens at least before it was stuck on one station and at reasonable volume. I think my Metallica CD is cursed cause its the same CD that was in my stock CD player when the display went out on it.

Unfortunately I dont got the cash to buy another one so I guess I;ll be going radioless until I can get to my storage building to find my stock one that still works minus the display. Are there bulbs in the display that I can change on a stock CD player or is it just shot?

 

Mine get a little weird sometimes. Try and clean the contacts.

 

I'll try that tomorrow. no dome light right now its out so I can hook up my OHC
