Kenwood DDX-512 issues

So i just got this headunit tonight. Everything is great except for the subwoofer controls. I can access everything but the sub contols. They have a little lock symbol next to it and I cant change it. Its freaking annoying.

I read the manual and nothing works. Its not in dual zone mode, the things password is 0000 and it unlocks every time. Everything but the freaking sub controls.

if anyone knows what Im doing wrong please let me know!

you have to go in and turn the sub on. it's under system i think. i used to have this unit, but ive got a newer one and the interface is different.. i can look tomorrow at work tho if u can't figure it out. i know for certain u go under tools and it's under system i think. it's there, and u have to change the output from rear audio to sub, then the sub controls will work.. just keep looking through the menus

i know the secret, it just clicked to me.. to unlock the rear output thing you have to put the source on stand by. then go to the system setup which is tools > audio setup> menu 3 i think, then change the rear output to sub.

yeah it seems like every time i mess with the settings on that model of kenwood you had to put something in some different mode to adjust other stuff lol. the newer 616 interface is much easier!
