Kappa components ? Where to put the tweeters?
I bought a brand new set of kappa components for the front and I'm running 2 way kappas in the rear. I went to go cut in the tweeters and they're huge !! I have tried researching google to find a picture a install and have been unsuccessful. I really could use a picture of where to cut the whole in the door panel thanks

I have read about Tweeter Placement, talked about it and listened to some of the people I think know what is happening and everything points to keeping the tweeters within 12 inches of the Midrange.
I am mounting mine (that is when I get there) on the top of the dash, slightly twisted towards the center.
Again this is not based on anything I know or think I know, just from getting info from around the site and web.
Let us know what you do ?

If imaging is an issue for you, consider mounting based on distance from you to both tweeters. Just like imaging a home stereo by placing one speaker closer or farther it will be audible different, especially in the case of high frequencies. Cars are notorious for imaging catastrophes (see: Honda civic/accord) largely due to space restraints. In my opinion the best sounding cars I listened to while competing in sound competitions used under dash (usually horn tweets) or kick panel locations because they have the closest gap to equal. Basic test is sit in driving position and reach for each speaker, not condescending, it helps.
On another note imaging aside, mounting tweets in doors and anywhere above the dash can cause them to be irritably loud and "tingy" especially when amplified. IMO forward and lower are always better for car audio. Sub excluded...

Is there a rule for the distance between the mid and the tweeter ?
Interesting about the mounting of the tweeter lower, not in your face, I will need to keep that in mind.
I think a little pre-mount running of the system and trying to locate the best location is needed, mount the tweeter, run the system, listen, redo as needed...

No rules for distance between mid and tweeter. Think of the tweeter as a beam of sound (because of high freq, that's how you'd normally consider it) So ideally you'd want to aim the tweeter at the person sitting in the seat of the car. (IE. Drivers door tweeter aimed at the driver, Passenger door tweeter aimed at the passenger)
I would recommend mounting them in the A-Pillar if you can fit them, if not in the door. That is where they will have the most impact.

Not sure of your problem ?
Setup a PhotoBucket (PB) Account.
Use the PB IMAGE CODE
Use the R-F Site image button (looks like a mountain with a sun)
Paste the PB Image Code
Hit OK
Does that make sense because that is what I do.
