Shoudl be here middle of next week, can't wait to get rid of my factory stereo.. also plan on ordering up 4x 6x8 three way PIoneers for the speakers here in another month.. funds are awful tight due to low hours at work from the holidays.

Cant wait! :[-) I also am going to be getting some decent speaker wire and pre-running it over the older stock stuff, perhaps down the road I may Amp it with a small 4x50 or so...

Anyone using this headunit it by chance?

its prettier than mine. mine is mostly red and black. but the function is the same. and they BARELY put out any more watts "RMS" than the stock head unit. so DEFNITLY get an amp to power the speakers better. but the an amps good job is basicly to allow the speaker to sound better at higher volume. without enough watts at higher volume levels the speakers start to sruggle to produce the same sounds and you get crackling.

Just be carefull not to go over your speakers rated power limit themselves. or youll blow them.

Yep, I've worked with a few amps through my brothers little civic.. he is running dual 10" subs and some Infiniti 5x7's in his setup. Just eager to finally do somethign about my own system right now.. I dont mind stock, but I want the aux inputs on the front and the CD player sucks when it gets awful cold around here, takes a sec to warm up

had a quick question on som eof yoru own personal preferences..

I plan on amping soem new speakers when Im available too, probably a slim to slide under the passenger seat, and I had a question on the speakers

Planning on runnign some Pioneer 6x8's, and the question is.. 3 way or 4 way.. I heard alot of peopel suggest either or..

Went into best buy up to their button clicker thing and checked the difference and i really did like the clear sound of the 4-way's myself, is there any reason to not get a 4 way and stick with just 3 ways? I dont plan on adding any subs to my pickup, just looking for some good clean mid/highs and a somewhat decent pump to the bass with whatever my new Sony HU can put out:

4-way

3-way

EDIT:
Actually.. after reading up hundred of reviews, i think my current HU will work perfectly with the 4-ways, and if, for any reason, I deem to have any bass, I can always get a slim profile sub to slip in under a seat or bolt to the wall and stealth it up a bit... finally ended up digging up a post that had what i was looking for on the forums, gave me some info into my earlier question.
