i had the kenwood interface for my kenwood and lets just say i regreted throwing away the receipt...sound quality was still way below an actual mp3 cd and you can only go one folder deep in your ipod... so basically you make a bunch of playlists and it cycles through those...
im sticking with just using an mp3 cd because i get 200 songs on it and pefect sound as well as all my titles

I wouldn't get an ipod integrated unit unless it has a scrolling wheel like most alpines do.
Here's my solution to my kenwood deck.
I just velcroed it to the dash and run the cable (not pictured) through the bottom of the head unit bezel. I can just change songs on the ipod as easily as touching the head unit.

i like my Pioneer 6800......hooked an Ipod up to one at Best Buy when i was looking for one....it worked good......it wasn't slow or anything........I won't buy anything but Pioneer because of their quality and the features they have compared to other brands.....with Pioneer you can control Sirus and XM satellite radios...
in fact, i am probably going to be getting the 9800BT for the Bluetooth and all the other features....

I got a pioneer connected to my ipod. Searching can be a pain, but you can do a little trick with the iPod so you can control the ipod while it's attached to the head unit. Personally, I make my own playlists, and it's simple to get to the playlist you want. Sound quality is perfect, wouldn't have anything else. If you're searching for that one song out of the 5000 you got on the ipod it might be a pain, but you can always just grab the ipod and do it manually. I've never tried the alpine, but anything and everything is better then those FM transmitters.

well i was just looking into buying a new pioneer head unit and the ppl at bestbuy told me that you just buy that extra ipod thing for 130 CAD and they run the wire into your glove box and you control your ipod through your deck and it charges at the same time.. i thought that was cool but i dont have an ipod. lol
