GPS reciever - Garmin Nuvi 350
I've got my finger on the submit button in the shopping cart at Amazon.com
Can anyone give me a good reason not to buy this?
It's $374, one of the top rated and best sellers. I've been thinking about it and been needing it for a while so it's not an impulse buy BUT..I'm going to sleep on it one more night and see what got of responses I get here.
The laptop receiver isn't really an alternative because I use a Mac and there aren't a lot of GPS software out there for Macs. I was also thinking of getting the new Blackberry 8800 or Curve which includes GPS now but it's still in it's beginning stages...plus I want to be able to share this with my fiancee who gets lost going to the local grocery store.
I appreciate any feedback on GPS receivers or alternatives in general, not just this one.

I don't really know much about the Garmin but a couple of my friends have a tomtom 510 and love it. they have the biggest screen out of all of the smaller gps's plus it has bluetooth so you can hook your phone up to it and if you get a call or need to make a call you can do it through the unit. Also with the bluetooth you can use the point of interest and if you see somewhere you want to go and need res. or what ever it will call the number for you.

I've been doing some reading on the GPS forums. It appears they are popular based on personal preferences. I've narrowed it down to the TomTom or Garmin and they each have a following. Similar to the Windows and Mac loyalty. What I have to do now is find out which out has the features I want the most.

I have that exact one, its very easy to use, my dad who can barely work our big screen sony we've had for 11 years can work it.. Not a single problem so far,, love the detour button, I saw bad traffic, selected detour, and while my friends were stuck in traffic (was too late to inform them) I was home 45 mins before them.. Also instead of an arrow showing your location on the map you can have a sedan, a sports car, or a monster truck!
