double din questions

double din questions

i want to install a double din radio/AVH-P3100DVD/ but it wont fit in my brazel and i have seen a couple of guys that have it their ranger let me know if anyone has any suggestion thanks

you have to trim out the lip in your bezel to make it fit. the top and bottom have to be flush, and if i remember right the sides need a slight trim.


also the the install kit is a big help too.

You just have to trim the top of the radio opening a bit. I think its like 1/8" or something small like that. My plan was to install one but I never did.

Its the back of the radio opening, those little lips. I had to trim both top and bottom on mine. I have a install kit that I don't need if you want it.

I am looking into buying this same unit!
is the install kit necessary? If it is just needed for the trim between the deck and the bezel i can make something myself. I have a bunch of carbon fiber that is begging to find a place on my dash.

ive heard its alot easier to buy the install kit does anyone know where i can buy this install kit.

I have seen install kids at Walmart, Target, places like that. You could also get it from a local car audio shop.

Not at all, thats a pretty good deal. Unit cost me 650, the XM module cost me 80 and theres still 9 months of XM left on it so thats worth like 100 bucks.
