A friend of mine had Focal in his Sunfire, he had Components and a sub and wow did it sound good!!!
I'm a huge SQ fan. Anyone can make a car/truck go BOOM but making a good SQ car/truck is a lot harder!
If you got the money I say go for it!!

Improperly sized/built/type boxes, low impedance, weak amplifiers with gain controls and bass boost on full tilt. all cause that terrible loud noise.

a sub has the least to do with the sound quality. any decent built sub in its recommended enclosure, powered with a strong clean amp will sound very similar.

are you talking brand matching or are you talking about sound matching or blending..
if your sub is not blending well with the rest of the system you will need to adjust your gains and crossover points. if you can't fix it with those controls then your box is likely the culprit.

If i were you I would worry about finding a good clean powerful amplifier for the door speakers above all else. that will be your biggest sonic improvement.
im afraid you seem more interested in having the same brand of stuff then you are in actual sound quality.
just because you use expensive equipment does guarantee your system will sound better.

There are a few no-no's in your system as it is.. get those fixed before you drop 300 on a un-needed sub
