any way to control ipod from factory radio?
I'm looking for a way I can just put the ipod in my glove compartment, and use the radio to control the files etc. I saw something on crtuchfiled for $139 by USASPEC, seemes to be on the right track but is there anything cheaper?

unless they really upgraded the stock head units, aftermarket headunits will make a big difference with aftermarket speakers as compared to stock
i know Kenwood has a simular interface to let you control your ipod through the headunit but it was a single folder deep so i could only play playlists

I have the AUX button :-) ATM thats whre ford installed the audio input hole... but see it only lets you input volume no controlling the ipod... I'd like to control it thru the headunit... I'm looking into aftermarket but I dont see anything that looks OEM clean, they all have shiney chrome or bling bling on them...

I just picked up the Alpine EX-10 yesterday at Tweeter and I am loving it. It was new at CES 2008 this year and they had just got it and new tech is always nice. Like the full line of alpine ipod controllers this uses full speed ipod control with many other added features, album artwork, bluetooth, etc.
My favorite feature is the option to use the fm transmitter, bluetooth, or aux 3.5 stereo cable for connecting the device to my truck. I use the 3.5mm stereo cable since the 07+ have aux input.

i looked through the previous posts and did not see anyone mention this, sorry if I missed it and this is a double post.
PS. I am getting a little bit of an alternator whine at high acceleration w/ the volume above 50%, since it is running off the cigarette lighter. But I plan on direct wiring an extra 12v socket and getting a 3.5mm noise isolator/filter for when I do the install and hide the wires (will post pictures).

Unless you hook it up to a aux hookup to the headphone jack on the ipod...
it wouldn't charge it
