Amp - speaker and amp - sub wire size?

What size wires should I run from my amps to my speakers and subs? Would 16ga work ok for the speakers? I'm thinking maybe 10ga for the sub, but I'm not sure. Any help would be appreciated!

The amps say they accept up to 8ga. but that seems pretty big for speakers?

16ga or 18ga would work fine for the speakers. For the sub, you could use the 10ga or 12ga would work just as well.

I think I would run 12g. to the doors speakers and 10g. to the sub.

speaker wire carries so little it wont matter. bigger means less resistance, but you dont want to much of a voltage drop. 16 is fine

Thanks guys. I got the 1/0 kicker wiring kit and it has 4ga power wires for the amps. 12 and 10ga it is then!

That sounds reasonable to me. I've got some 10ga lying around somewhere too, so that'll save me a few bucks.
