6.5" Component Speakers
My mom keeps on hounding me for birthday present ideas and my passanger front speaker up front started buzzing the other day so I figured I'd upgrade them. I heard 6.5" has the most options and I don't mind doing a little extra work for better sound. So give me some ideas!
Oh my budget is 200 or less.

I've heard some good (better than stock) speakers at Circuit City. If you want to look at www.crutchfield.com check out the Infinity line almost everything is within your budget. With a little bit of savings you could get a Component system.

$200.00 is a tight budget for components. Are you looking to put them in all 4 doors?
6.5's are definitely the way to go, you get a much cleaner sound in a durable speaker when compared to oval (5x7). As for install, if you purchase off crutchfield they send you all the instructions and a mounting plate to convert your 5x7 to a 6.5, it also has a place to mount the tweet, although mine are in the door above the handle.
I got a great price on my A/D/S components through a local dealer, they were reg. $400 a pair and I was able to get all 4 for that price. They sound a lot better than the Polk MOMO's I bought my boyfriend for his '08 Cummins, but they are a high end audio speaker...
Polk makes a great speaker they are buy 1 get 1 half off at crutchfield!!

MBQuart components. Mine rock and were just under 200$. You definitely need an amp though, which will almost more than the speakers. Don't go cheap or underpowered on the amp.
Any component speakers around the 200$ price will sound a great deal better than stock. Everyone is going to have their own opinions and most people haven't heard every brand and set of speakers to make judgments.

There are alot of great brands out there. but it all depends on what type of music you listen to mainly because each brand has different strengths.
For instance I have a 2006 Nissan Titan that is my car audio show vehicle for sound quality. I chose boston accoustic Pro 60's comp sets in the front and rear and run Arc Audio Amps and subwoofers. I listen to many different types of music and this set up sounded good to me. either way you will want to add a amp but can still use your stock head unit if you need to.

i tried to choose the infinity reference 6 1/2" comp set for my gals 04 ranger and it said modified fit, kick panel only...it let me keep it in my shopping cart but didnt include the speaker adaptors. how are u guys getting the adaptors included? i dont care if i have to trim the speaker opening a little.
