engine running lean
Ok, I took the truck to work today and the mechanic was finally able to pull it in at end of day and put his laptop on it. Some may think why am I on here when I work at a dealership, mainly because the mechanics want to make money not talk about swaps..unless you pay them big bucks to do the swap. Well we found that the problem is the mass air flow which is only maybe 11 mths old is showing the pcm that the air density is like we are in Denver maybe, its showing 132 when it should be up around 155 so its running lean as heck. the one 02 sen is taking a little too long to start cycling but the big issue is the maf sen. so its either I over oil the k n air filter and oil killed sen or maybe I have a wire wrong at c115? or the sensor is bad? I looked at my eccm books and only one wire goes thru that plug but I need to look at plug on truck to see I didn't move it in error.

Food for thought, after putting the newer maf on last nite and getting mixed results. I put the one from ebay back on and she ran fine. I think the motor sat for some time and most of the sensors r questionable. The dpfe has me gwondering. I saw a scanner that looks like it plugs in at Port under dash...$25 or so...I paid 100 for trouble code reader 10 yrs ago..I guess prices hav come down
