vacum hub fix

so my 98 is having hub problems, they dont lock %100 of the time. i think im gonna do the Vacum hub fix thats on the how-to's. but im a little worried about permenantly locking my hubs. wont that hurt my gas milage, and cause unwanted wear and tear, having the hubs always locked?

Im kinda tight on money right now, so new hubs will have to wait a while for my truck. Did the how-to change anything at all though, did the 4wd engage better for you atleast?

tell u the truth i did not see any change intell i swapped for the AVMs the PVH just plain out suck....all that mod does is permently lock the pvh so when u put it in 4wd u dont have to worry about it not locking but when i did it i still didnt think they locked.....the avms are lonely 100 bucks and they are a bang for ur buck mod....just save up and get those they will also save ur front end from wear since the cv shafts stop turning and i believe the driveshaft stops turning as well i could be wrong but i think it does

There is a way of modifying the pvh hubs to be manual, I can't find it buy you remove the screen and push against the white plastic part like a button. You should really get AVM hubs, I did and experienced 1/2 - 1 mpg improvement, and the improvement in steering alone is worth the cost. My pvh hubs were locked 100% of the time and my cv shafts and driveshaft were starting to wear out.
