Took my truck to the shop

Took the 04 4x4 4.0 in today. It's getting a center force dual friction clutch.

It was just under $300 for the 04+ 4.0 4 dr 4x4 version. They just came on the market for this year ranger over last couple of months. now if we could get some slotted rotors.........

ok. First off the mechanic told me the old clutch was fine. Plenty of life left in it. I guess I convinced myself I "needed" it instead if "wanting" it. Oh well. it's in now. lol.

The difference I noticed immediately is it either grabs earlier or grabs harder. Enough that I stalled the engine twice today when lightly accelerating from a stop. The rythem is different from when I dropped it off.

With the amount of towing I do and the fact that the old clutch had plenty of life left, I have a little more confidence in the truck now when towing.
