Snow Plow??

Ok:
I have an 08 Ranger XLT 4x4 SuperCab with the 4.0L V6 SOHC and a 5 Speed Automatic Transmission with the 4.10 Limited Slip Differential and Four Wheel Drive. What kind of lightweight plow can I put on this? Thanks All

I think Boss makes a lightweight one. Might look into Western too. but they are top brands.

Are you aware of the risks and more maintainence required when using a plow?

If your going to do a driveway maybe 2 for a winter I would use a snow blower. If you have plans to work more than that buy a 3/4 ton truck.

The ranger is a good light duty truck but the auto trans is just too crappy for real work.

I use a Snow Sport Plow on a 99 B4000. I have a half mile to plow (downhill) and I don't let it build up very deep before I plow. I also have an auto trans but I have an open diff. As long as your slow and careful and not doing commercial work, you'll be ok.

Boss HTX W/SmartHitch2 is the only way to go with the rangers. I have one on each of my older Rangers and have it set to install the same on my new 2020 FX4 Ranger with the Boss dealer. Mild steel is approximately 250 lbs, make sure suspension is inspected prior, replacing upper control arms, sway bar linkages, shocks, lower ball joints, and 110A HO Alternator is used w/deep cycle battery. If you can’t get the alternator, ask for an 06 FX4 alternator and it will fit on a 4.0 V6 SOHC.##$mak
