those aren't bad units especially for their price. I've used the OTC numerous times.

Yeah I bought it for my diesel and to use on my side work. $20 scanner fee helps bring in a buck or two

this has happened to my 2005 B4000. I had a k&n filter in and the top of the airbox was not sealing properly. after a bit of snow there was moisture in it. I changed it 3 weeks ago to a stock paper filter and no problem. Although it hasn't snowed much yet.

I have gotten the issue to go away. well so it seems. I just drove it about 10 miles and had 0 issues. here is what Ive done.

I removed the silencer and that littlerubber thing the silencer sat in. I also cleaned the maf and installed a new OEM motorcraft airfilter.

I think the k&n filter will let the snow pass the filter, and it is doing something with the maf. Really no way to figure it out unless you data log it.

I ran the truck with the scilencer out with the fram airfilter and it did it, as soon as i replaced the filter to the factroy one, it was fine.

Here is something else I found on another forum. Clean up this ground on the rad. support in front of the battery. Haven't tried it myself yet, but an easy thing to try.

My '99 suddenly started having symptoms like Nate's.... sort of a combination of a bucking/hesitation and reminded me of crossfiring plug wires. Strangely it started doing this when we had a snowstorm about a month ago.. I was thinking probably have to replace the plugs and/or wires and while checking the washer fluid the other day started looking things over and found the air filter box wasn't totally latched. I snapped it down tight and low and behold now for the past week, not a single hesitation, buck or miss... and it would never throw a code. Just a thought, might be worth checking out...

Mine turned out to be a cracked plug on Cyl. 3. I like my truck again.
