passenger side timing chain guide broke during repairs, redo engine timing?
I removed my engine on my 2001 ford ranger 4.0L v6 SOHC to do work on cylinder heads and coolant system but my dad broke the passenger side timing chain guide when he was trying to set engine to dead center I got a new guide for it from the internet but haven't installed it yet before knowing exactly what to do. the chain never dropped into the engine but does the timing need to be redone even though the sprockets never came loose around the internal timing gears and the damage happened during repairs and not while the engine was running? if I do what parts do I need to replace and why? please help this is my first engine removal and I have almost no experience with complex things like the engine timing

As long as the timing chain has not jumped a tooth on either sprocket and the bolts on the jackshaft and cam sprockets have not been loosened, your timing should not have changed. However, I don't know how you are going to remove the heads without removing the cam sprockets. Once you have done that, you need to time the cams again. That takes a special tool kit, which is not cheap.
If your cam timing chain cassettes have not been replaced, you should replace both front and rear and both tensioners.
