Muffler Poll -- Borla/Magnaflow
These are the two mufflers I have decided on. I only need one. That's where the problem lies.
Borla 40658
Magnaflow 14225
I like the sound of the Borla, as I "think" thats what I had on my old Splash. My Dad had a Magnaflow on the Dakota, and it was nice -- but I really didn't care for it. It also had some resonators and duals out the back, wheras I am running mine single piped out the side.
I need some help.
I think I'd be happy with either, but you guys pick for me.
Myself personally, I am leaning toward the Borla.
I am also getting a Magnaflow direct-fit cat with some JBA headers...

If you want reasons why people choose what exaust they think would work best for you, make it like an English class essay question...
"If you were putting an exaust system on a 4.0 Litre 1995 Ford Ranger Splash, were about to install a Magnaflow direct-fit cat with some JBA headers, and had to choose between a Borla exaust and a Magnaflow exaust, which would you choose. Explain."

Aaron, I used to shop like that, but if I am gonna pay like, $700 for headers, I'll get a good muffler, don't care about the price.
Sean, why the Borla?

Sorry, didn't realize you were getting headers too! If so, buy whatevers better. I don't have a valid opinion. I thought you were jus tryin to get an expensive system, and i was thinkin "why waste your money on very little gain" But hell yah to headers.

ooh ooh i take english!!
A borla exhaust would be the best choice because of it's lower price, reported higher dyno gains, and ability to get the driver laid. <--- thesis
supporting paragraph 1:
The borla for a ____ ranger costs 375 dollars on average while the Magnaflow requires you to put your arm and leg as a deposit. While the monetary value of an arm and leg is less, the reattachment is not yet feasible, so paying the price for borla muffler makes it worth it. Also, for dual Magnaflow you have to give your arm, a leg, and the "other appendage".
supporting paragraph 2:
While the magnaflow offers gains of 10 horsepower and 15 torque on the dyno, studies show borla will gain you 15 WRHP and 20 foot lbs of torque. Also magnaflow mufflers are made out of aluminum foil, which tends to wear out, and you lose the gains over time.
supporting paragraph 3: I got laid in a truck with a borla exhaust once. I'm thirsty, i want some beer.
In conclusion, this short essay can be summed up as "borla gets the ladies" so you know what to do!

I think you all know what im going to say...
Looks like you picked out the right muffler, center/offset like i have........Now if you want it to sound better, get some huge *** exhaust tips....Biggest ones you can find....
I have 22 x 3.5 and am searching for larger ones...
BTW- your defenitly going to wake the 4.0 up with a headers and a new full exhaust system....
