I have a 4.0 OHV with 162xxx miles on it. I was wondering how much more miles can i get out of it if i keep doing the standard matinience on it?? My uncle is a Ford Machanic and says its almost dead (but he hated fords so im not to concerned about what he says) but it jus got me wondering. I dont have to much money or time to rebuild or get a new engine so i kinda need to knw. Thanx!

How can anyone know? It depends on how the vehicle has been maintained, how it has been used, etc.

 

well i have 275k on my truck and it still running strong. all original engine. never been rebuilt only had a couple gaskets replaced

 

In my expert opinion your engine will fail you in about 6775 miles, got or take 13.

 

With that mileage, the head gaskets can go at any time if they were not already replaced.
