How Many O2 Sensors Are On a 93 Ranger 4.0 XLT SC 4x4
#1
#2
Two, one on the passenger side and one on the drivers side just after exhaust manifolds, the Rangers didn't get downstream O2s until 1995 and up with the new EEC-V computers
Do them one at a time, there is only one wire difference and the connectors are the same, reversing them will cause running issues, lol
On the engine is the FPR(fuel pressure regulator), it has the Return fuel line attached AND a vacuum line
On a 1993 4.0l it will be located below alternator on top of the lower intake, looks like a small can
Check that vacuum line for gasoline
If FPR should leak a bit raw fuel can be sucked into the engine
Computer issue
The 1994 and earlier EEC-IV computer had 3 capacitors inside that can leak/fail after 20+ years
These are radial type, look like a barrel, and not hard to change, under $5 fix
These can cause any number of minor to major issues depending on how they leak or fail, so there is not a "one symptom fits all"
Pulling out the computer on a 1993/4 is a pain but if you do just change the capacitors as preventative maintenance
