flashing check engine light

so I have a 96' ranger and the check engine light has been on since i bought it. I know that the cylinder 1 is misfiring so i replaced the plugs and wires brand new. But the coil pack was from another ranger, could that coil pack be shot too or maybe something else? And just starting yesterday the light is flashing.
