Is this the fix we’ve been waiting for?
Hi all,
it’s late and I didn’t have a chance to scan the forums, but I saw this video on YouTube about a timing chain rattle fix.
A line from the “oil restrictor” to the oil pressure sending unit with a line and tee fitting...
Does this hold plausible?
good night all 👍🏻

This bypass from the OilPressureSwitch port to the LeftOilRestrictor port
may be an alternative or possible addition to donalds PreOiler system as described here

The video maker said he cleaned...what? ..the passage a 13cm stick of red plastic lives in? I understand it's a flow restrictor passage.
I see the T30 plug. Is the plug which covers the red stick / tube friction fit?
Also, when the symptom arises, is such cleaning to be tried first; repeatedly if necessary?
Ergo, is it a valid maintenance inspection item? Somebody's going to say, "sure, go ahead".

I think IF.............you get a noise from the front drivers side timing chain you would just DO this modification, the passage is clogged so you would "blow it out" and then add the oil line, this is assuming you have changed the tensioner to eliminate that as the cause
As video maker said he did "blow it out" but then the noise came back after awhile, so there is already some sludge build up that will keep moving in to limit flow to that tensioner
At least that's what I got from it
If you run a 195 thermostat and change oil when its time then sludge build up is less likely so no need for modification
But if you buy used vehicle it could have sludge build up, and only way to get rid of it is to "hot tank" the block, you could try ATF but and flush but it probably wouldn't work all that well for this issue

I found another video that seems sketchy AF:

At idle, this seems ok, but at higher RPMs, isn't this a terrible thing as the tensioner now doesn't give? Wow.

Some have replaced V6~4.0~SOHC OilPressurized TimingTensioners with ManualAdjustable TimingTensioners first designed for Polaris ATVs.
