Exhaust Installation Tips Needed

I have an MBRP single side exit kit on the way and I am wondering if anyone has tips on the exhaust installation process. This will be the first time I do an exhaust change so any advice is appreciated. I think I remember seeing somewhere that you have to be careful installing the extension pipe as it has a tendency to rub on the frame if done incorrectly. Any other tips I should know before I start?

Forgot you had asked me this. Your PM was erased in the server crash. Let me get the instructions dug up and I'll post them.

No problem. I work in the tech world so I know how that goes. I am interested in any tips you can offer that will make installation a smooth process.

There is a crossmember where that extension pipe goes that is a pretty close fit but you shouldn't have any problem there.

Unless your truck is new it wouldn't hurt to have new bolts/springs/nuts for the flange after the cat as they always get pretty soft there. Might not be depending on what the climate is like where you are... but mine were bad and the truck was only 2 years old at the time!

Did that kit come with a new gasket for that connection?

FULLSCALE - My truck is new (I've only had it about a month and a half) so I am not too worried about the bolts/springs/nuts. However, it looks like the kit comes with new bolts/springs/nuts anyway. I don't see a gasket listed in the parts list, and I don't see any mentioning of it in the online directions. Is this something that I should look into getting even if it isn't mentioned in the directions?

KLC - I know that you have a similar MBRP system...did you buy a gasket to use with your kit, or did you only use the parts that came with the kit itself?

Does anyone know if I will need any new gaskets (or other parts) to install this MBRP kit? I haven't been able to find any information about it online and these directions don't mention any gaskets. If all else fails, I might be able to use any existing gaskets that are already in the stock exhaust line. My truck has less than 1,000 miles on it so I can't imagine that any gaskets couldn't be reused. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

Just a follow up on my own question in case someone else runs into the same sitution...I contacted MBRP (and talked to a couple people that used their kit) and there is not a gasket required.
