Cat swap Q's and new headers...Pros-Cons

Hey all,

I've got a '00 4.0 and I'm thinkin about puttin new headers on. PaceSetters got a set for about $190 shipped from a few places. First, will there be a performance difference that makes the price reasonable? I've heard your bottom end is noticeably better. Second, are Pacesetters any good? I don't want to spend too much more then that. I've got a cat back exhaust system installed already so I think the headers and cats are the only thing holding me up as it is.

Now for the cats. We all know these Rangers have two, and I've been looking for a single one to replace both factory cats but that exhaust sensor is causing problems in finding one. Anyone know of a good high-flow single cat that I can put in place of the two I have that won't make my service engine light come on? Thanks for any input y'all.

Matt

Agree with Cameron...headers will help some sure, but they're not worth as much as your cat-back exhaust mods were. I don't think the factory cats are all that bad, actually. I'd leave 'em in there.

Nuff said guys. Thanks for the thoughts, after a little research PaceSetters really arent great and anything that would be a decent upgrade just cost waaaay too much to justify. I guess I'll go until these cats crap out. Theyve only got 73k on them and I probably wouldnt notice any difference spending money on something new.

A cat wont really crap out. There has to be some user faults first.
