4.0 OHV turns over but will not start
Every few weeks my motor would randomly decide not to start. It turns over just fine though. I would go a week or 2 with no problems (I drive it every day), then suddenly it would not start. Then I'd wait awhile, and it would eventually start. This went on for over a month. Well the other day, it decided to quit for good. Had to get it towed home.
I did a spark test and determined that I am not getting spark from the coil. I replaced the battery, spark plugs, wires, and coil pack. It still won't start. What's really weird is right after I changed the spark plugs it started up, one time, and ran perfectly normal. Then I come back the next day, and it's back to not starting. At all. My battery is fully charged.
I also have a new fuel pump and fuel filter.
What else could it be?
Has anyone ever had this problem and what did you do to resolve it? I hear conflicting information about the starter. Some say that it can't possibly be the starter if it's turning over normally, but other people are saying that even though the starter is turning over, it could still be faulty. The starter wires look ok upon visual inspection. Could it be that my crank position sensor is going bad? What about the fuel pump relay?

Well I mean at the simplest level, it's either no spark or no gas.
You could try spraying some ether or something down into the engine to see if it will fire that way (little redneck and I wouldn't recommend doing it over and over again, but it'll work once or twice). If it does, then it's something with fuel not getting to the engine. Has the truck been sitting for any length of time? From the sounds of it, I'll say no as it seems like you drive it pretty regularly so I wouldn't assume bad gas.
If it won't fire with ether, then it's something with the spark. Have you done a spark test since you replaced everything?
