4.0 Ford Ranger V6 Valve Cover Question
I need a drivers side 4.0 Valve cover. Mine is rusted and looks herrendous. Does anyone know the years or Ford Models etc., that would work with my 93 Ranger 4.0 V6. Nobody sells them, even the junkyards dont have them.
This is my valve cover. Is it that bad, will it rust out and leak etc? I currently have only 133k miles on it. Basically driven 4k miles per year.

Yes, common issue on the 4.0l OHV valve covers, and no one made replacements so what Ford had in stock is long gone, because they rusted out
1990-2000 were the years of the 4.0l OHV engine and valve covers were the same in all years, thin pressed metal
Explorers used them as well and they will fit
And no one made "dress up" valve covers as far as I know, after market chrome or aluminum
Best thing to do is pull them off and clean them, treat with naval jelly or similar rust inhibitor, prime and paint
They do popup on ebay from time to time

No, that's from a 4.0l SOHC engine so a different engine than the 4.0l OHV
If you see the part sticking out at the lower right of picture its from an SOHC model
Explorers did use the 4.0l SOHC from 1997 and up, Rangers didn't use that other engine until 2001
Mazda B4000 also used 4.0l OHV from 1994 thru 2000, same 4.0l OHV as Rangers, so same valve covers
