1997 4.0 ohv lower intake manifold coolant leak

Not an uncommon coolant leak point on the 1990-2000 4.0l OHV Rangers
Lower intake passes coolant from one head to the other
The heads are cast iron and the lower intake aluminum, so dissimilar metals, if coolant is not changed regularly then the aluminum will get Galvanic corrosion where the coolant is flowing passed
On the 4.0l that is the passenger side front and drivers side rear of lower intake, although any of the 4 corners can leak coolant
You need to change the lower intake gasket as it has been eaten away as well, usually the lower intake will be re-useable with a new gasket, that's a look and see
Green silicate coolant needs to be changed every 2 to 3 years to prevent this from happening
Red/pink or yellow/gold coolant every 5 to 6 years
