Ford accessory keyless entry pad programming

Ford accessory keyless entry pad programming
I ordered a genuine Ford wireless keyless entry pad as an accessory for my soon to be delivered 2020 SuperCab. The reason why I did not spec this when I ordered the truck is that the factory would of stuck it on just above the outside door handle, which looks really cheesy to me. Instead I plan to mount it to the inside of the fuel fill door, evidently all Ranger keypads are wireless.
Once I do receive the pad it will need to be programmed with the truck, does anyone know if this can be accomplished with ForScan rather than having the dealer do it?
The truck is a 2020 Lariat SuperCab 4x2 with remote start.
Thanks in advance

As far as I know the keypads are the same as the fobs when programing/adding them, when you punch in the code it sends a wireless digital unlock signal same as the fob does, I don't think they ever did a lock signal, just unlock
You need to first set the key pads combination or if its pre-set have that number available
Then follow the instructions for adding a fob to your vehicle.
All Fobs are erased from memory when you start "programming mode", so you need all the fobs you want to use plus the keypad, then add these as described
The erase function is there in case you lose a fob, so it would be made useless after programming remaining fobs back in, so if some one found it they couldn't use it on your vehicle
If fobs can not be added by owners then yes you would need to go to a dealer to have it added, not sure if Forscan did fobs, PATS keys yes, but not sure about fobs
Fobs are keyless entry so more Alarm than anti-theft

The instructions on how to code your wireless key pad are in the Owners Manual. That is that big book in your glovebox.
You will get a code included with the part. You can change it -- or leave it as factory.
To answer the question about locking your vehicle with the wireless key pad -- just hit the last two pads 7-8 and 9-0 at the same time. Doors lock.

The replies above do not directly address your question. In order to add the accessory (battery operated) keypad you will need access to FDRS to add the keypad to your Body Control Module (BCM). You can change the access code but you need to program the keypad string into the module. The card that comes with your keypad has 3 lines of characters which are entered as one long string of characters into FDRS. At this time, Forscan doesn't support this option for our Rangers. I have submitted the request. In the meantime FDRS is your means to add the keypad. The other replies are about how to select your own personal 5 digit code to use when unlocking the Ranger.
Hope that helps ya.
