Mine has 173,000 on it - doing great right now.

In 1990 I bought an 1985 Ranger 2.8L w/ 100,000 miles on it. I sold it in 2001 with 315,000 miles on it.....same engine, I adjusted the lifters in it once. I ran Mystik 15W-50 in it all those years.

That was testimony to me about the Ford Ranger. So this 173,000 does not bother me as much as it does others.

Mine's 175 k and I'm having RMS leak problems and the brass bearing's are getting eat up so I have a nice brass glitter in my oil filter, not the engine, as far as I know. It's wearing out.

I have 187,000 on the one I just purchased but it has some issues.

I sell parts for a living and can get a 3yr/100k reman for $1,300 and some change. It is built by the same people that build for Ford to start with so worse case I will be going this route.
