Some basic questions about a 3.0
Ok guys, new to the forum. I have some questions about the danger ranger I hope you can help with. I did search for some answers, but didnt find them to be sufficient enough, so I will ask anyway.
First off, its a 2000, 3.0, 4x4, extended cab, 155k, many dents, always comes home.
From what I understand, the 3.0 is a pushrod design. At what mileage should I look into replacing timing chains?
Although its a flex fuel, the sensor went bad. I replaced it with a sensor replicator i found on ebay. Works great. I am curious if the 3.0 non FFV runs the same spark plugs as the FFV.
I found a post about the coil pack numbering. 123, 465. Whats up with that? I plugged mine in according to the picture on this forum and it wouldn't start. I guess the real question, is this. Looking at the truck, 123 is from the closest cylinder on the left to the back, right? On the right, which is number 4, is 4 against the firewall, or is 4 at the front of the engine. This is the biggest problem I have at this point, its throwing missfire codes, and only started throwing codes after doing plugs and wires, pretty sure i dont I have the wires run to the correct plug. Also, the coilpack is labeled, 123, 465, which is just weird.
Ok, thats it. thats all I have for now. Thank you in advance for any help.
