Need Help With Squeek From A Pulley
Well my belt started squeeking, so after a few days i poped the hood and looked at it, the ribes are starting to crack but not enough for it to sqeek this loud(at least not to me), so i looked around for a bit and it sounded like this squeek was comming from the idler pulley, i sprayed a lil ZEP 45(penatrating lub with teflon) and presto it stopped, well if you let it set for a lil it will start to squeek for a lil but if you spray it with some ZEP it will stop, so i bought me a new Idler Pulley and replaced it, well it still squeeks, only when you get above 2,000rpm or so, spray it with a lil ZEP and it stopes, i have no clue what it is, i would go ahead and replace the belt, but it stops squeeking if i spray the idler pulley, even the new one any help would be greatly apperacated
thanks,
cody

Could be some buildup in the grooves of the pulleys or the tensioner, when you are spraying the idler the belt is getting some of the lube as well. Afer of a few minutes of running the lube wears off and the squeak returns. If the belt is cracked then I would replace it, clean the grooves out with a steel bristled brush and go at it again.

maybe one of the pulleys? mine sqeals at about 3700 rpm until about 4500 rpm and sometimes all the way through the rpms. I pooped the hood and one of my pulleys is a bit wobbly and its weird cause it was painted black from the factory, but the paints worn out in some spots but not others...
