On popular cat backs, I got mine from Summit for $150.00. That made it very popular with me. It is a Dynomax and I really like it and usually I hate any exhaust noise. Even that "rich, mellow tone". I think it helped in the power dept. too.

Are you a street kind of guy? Then lower it. I guess you can do that in TX. Here in New England people still lower vehicles but potholes and frost heaves are heck on them.
I always wondered about lifting a 2wd and putting an air locker in the rear. Do what makes you feel good though. a 2wd is still more limited off road. And it might look silly.

well coming from a mustang gt that had alittle bit of mods yes i would say that im a street kinda guy but love the fact that i do have a truck now and dont have to baby the speed bumps anymore and rocks/dirts etc are fun to me. if i cant sell my saleens off my mustang id like to lower the ranger and put them on IF they fit... they are 18x9s and 18x10s so yeah

i dont think the spacing is the same, but you could do a 2/2 drop and see how you like it, thats what i did but now i want to make it even lower

I have a 02 EDGE supercab that I use for curb jumping, small trails out in the country, loads and lots of fun. My wife can't stand it when I go from one business to the other via over a curb instead of going around the proper way out on the street through the stoplight and wait on traffic. I just go to the curb or medium in the parking lot ,crawl over it while no one is watching and presto, you have arrived at your destination. She does have a little smirk on her face when I do that, so I know she likes to do it as well

but I still love my lowered 03 supercab XLT( 2 inches), I love taking the merge lanes a little faster than others do. In my area the state just finished part of a interstate hwy that has highspeed exit/entrance ramps to aid in traffic flow. What a blast to sneak up behind a Beemer ,rice tuner or a boy racer. The deer in the headlights look is priceless
. I have the best of both worlds, at least for me. I've added a rear sway bar to the EDGE and new shock, handles pretty dang good.
ps I'm 52years old :)

Im gona laugh when you 2wd guys are hoppin over curbs and medians and dont take a good enough angle over it and get high centered! Then what are you gona do? Stick it in 4wd and drive away?? Haha o wait. You cant!... Just be careful you guys dont get stuck somewhere you shouldnt be!.. And maybe your cops wnt care... But where im from the cops dont tollerate any types of shinanagins! Good shinanagins or evil shinanagins! 4wd FTW!!

More to it than that.

For instance, I'm 2wd yet have 4wd suspension. ie, Mazda's Dual Sport 2wd suspension. I've got a heavier front suspension (#1 Torsion Bars) that would cause a nightmare in camber issues and would never get low enough to look decent. If you've got a 2wd with coil springs and lowering is what you're into, go for it.

IMO the ranger isn't a good street machine stock. Basic suspension, C channel ladder frame, etc... But I'm not big on the street truck thing. I got past that in highschool.
