It's a totally useless question. Nobody runs their tank down to exactly the same place, including you -- so "miles per tank" is a bogus measure.

Only MPG matters. Winks reply was exactly on target.

Are you saying you don't understand how your question doesn't give a useful result instead of asking MPG? How may MPG are YOU getting?

I put on like 230 miles per tank and usually put about 12.5 gallons in (works out to 18.4 MPG).

What pisses me off is my 4.0 OHV with bigger tires got better mileage.

I dont know how to check MPG. But the past 3 times I have filled up 1 time I ran out of gas it has never gotten over 185.

MPG = (Miles on the Tank) / (Gallons you put In).

For example, 230 Miles on 1 Tank / 12.5 Gallons to Fill Up = 18.4 Miles Per Gallon

It's not an exact science because of the fact that you don't always fill the tank up to the same level, etc... but for the most part it's close enough.

Andy, we've told you and others so many times how to calculate mileage you should know. And you should be able to figure it out.

It's still a dumb question, sorry.

So the one on the 4.0 thread is stupid too? I was just wondering what kind of mileage people get on a tank of gas. 75% or more of the threads on here are dumber questions.

fill your tank until the pump auto shuts off. then start until it stops again. Reset your trip odometer. Drive until youre on E or until you want to fill up. Fill the tank until it auto shuts off. Start again until it stops again.

then take the total number of miles that the trip odometer counted and divide that number by how many gallons of fuel you put in your truck to get it to full.

thats youre millage.

Remember he has to account for his bigger tires so his odometer is off.

I wanna say my injectors are clogged or something. Cause I was backing in a driveway the other day with a half tank of gas and my truck DIED! I couldn't believe it! Also if I am giving it BARELY any throttle while driving it bogs down like its out of gas for a second.

do a tune up and put a fuel injector cleaner through the tank and see what happens
