Crank position sensor
How does the 3.0 react to a blown CPS?
I'm trying to trouble shoot my problem because it doesn't run, so I can't take it anywhere to have the codes pulled on it. It died while driving. Started to cough and sputter then nothing. It turns over real rough, It seems like it wants to start, but won't because it is turning over so rough. I hope that makes sense...
I gotta get it back on the road because my 71 F100 only gets 11mph and it's putting a hurting on my wallet.

Unlike many other EFI sensors, there is nothing in the engine controls that can be effectively substituted for the CKP to get you home. Without it, you're dead in the water. That doesn't necessarily mean that your CKP has failed though. As an example, I'd check to see if something in the fuel delivery system has gone belly up.
