Good point Daily Driver, I was thinking of doing this but now I think since I plan on keeping my truck for many years to come I might not want to do this mod.

i was just wondering maybe the reason they have slack on the cable is so you can get it off the throttle or else it might be a pain. but i could be totally wrong.

Why wouldn't a 5.0 need the mod? 5.0 throttle cables don't stretch?

SJWilson: Check and see, maybe your pedal won't hit the floor before WOT. Maybe you don't need it, or maybe, if the pedal hits the floor, you might have some room for it to quicken the response. Somewhere in this thread someone mentions how to check but I am sure you can figure it out.

Does this work with the newer trucks like mine (03)? My truck takes a good 5 minutes to walk to from here and its freezing out... just curious.

never thought about doing this lol. sweet.
Exactly, all cables stretch over time, thats why most dirtbikes, quads, sleds, anything with a cable has a threaded adjustment rod, EXCEPT OUR TRUCKS! WTF! lol easy way to fix stuff though: zip ties, self tappers and duct tape!!!

An some of the most under mentioned tools: Bailing wire and coat hangers. I used metal strapping instead of zip ties.

They are only $1.00 for a bunch at Dollar Tree. I used some old metal strapping I had, anything to take up the slack.
