Anyone know the name of this part?
Okay I just recently found a puddle of coolant under my ranger. After scouting upon scouting I finally found the culprit. At about 3 grand there's enough pressure built up for it to spray. It's spraying from a brass 90 degree elbow coming out of the block. It's secondary hose (5/8"). As for the part it's a brass elbow that comes from the block and serves as the housing for the coolant tempature sensor and the hose feeding it is a "Y" off the main bottom right hose going into the radiator. I had to pull the airbox and tubing out along with the belt to get to it. I got it out and took it down to Advance Auto for a match up and no luck. They say it's a manufacturers part only. So now I'm surfing Ford's site and I cannot for the life of me find this frazzling part nor can I think of any other possible configuration of names for this part. I've looked and looked. I first found the temp sensor but there wasn't even a related search option for the elbow itself.
So, until I know what to get I made due with a similar brass spout I found in the bargain bin at AAP. I matched the threads and screwed it in. Extrended the hose with a couple wrapped the spout with black tape carefully to compensate for the smaller hose port and it works like a charm. As you can imagine though I basicly just bypassed the coolant temp sensor. So I need this part if I want it to ever work again.
I do have pics to better clerify if no one knows it right off hand.
Anyone have a clue?

It sounds like the fitting for the 3.0L Bypass Hose. The hose itself should be easy to locate but I'll bet that finding that fitting online would rank somewhere between difficult and impossible.
I believe that the part name might be "elbow" and the base part number may be -18599- but no guarantees.
Why not make it easy on yourself? Take the part and your vehicle info to the nearest Ford dealer and have them order it for you. Assuming that a nearby parts warehouse has it in stock, it should be in your hands in 1~2 business days. By the time you figure in shipping, the cost would probably be comparable to buying online.

I talked on the phone to the parts man at my local Ford dealer and he said he was able to bring up a picture of it on the screen that shows the intake manifold. He also said that the part was an elbow and had the threaded mounting hole for the coolant temp sensor. Based on that, I gotta believe that what you have is a factory part. I'd stop back over at the dealer and have them look it up on that screen.
