96 V6 3.0 Antifreeze leak behind the waterpump
I had a antifreeze leak and it looked like it was the water pump, We went threw the process of chaning the water pump and belt and thought we had it fixed BUT..... No!
From what I am reading it sounds like the timing chain cover gasket. I know I have to take the water pump off and was wondering waht else I am looking at?
Anybody have a step by step process for doing this?
Should I replace the timing chain also?

Thanks

I really wish I had done the same when I did mine, it probably would have been pretty helpful. The reason I ask about the pan gasket, is because the front pan bolts bolt into the timing cover. I forgot what the OE gasket was made out of (I replaced mine w/ a flexible silicone gasket when i did my clutch) but if its a stiff paper type of gasket, I could see it being really easy to brake while removing the front cover. Other than that it was a pretty straight forward job. I used a tiedown hanging from the hood latch to hold the accessory bracket out of the way. I replaced the timing chain and gears while I had it apart as well.
