2000 Ford Ranger P0171 &P0174 codes
I have a 2000 Ford Ranger V6 3.0 that has been giving me these error codes for quite some time now and I cant figure out what it is.
So far i have:
Rebuilt the motor 40,000 miles ago rebuilt the fuel injectors, changed the 02 sensors
Cleaned the EGR valve,MAF sensor and throttle valve
Going to try to replace the PCV valve
Any ideas of what the else i can do to fix the problem? It seems like it is impossible to get the engine light to shut off, and these new smog laws are killing me. Please let me know.
Thanks,
Josh

Yes, +1 ^^^^
Having 2 Lean codes means O2 sensors are working perfectly.
Either the MAF sensor is not reporting air flow correctly or air is getting into the intake manifold from a leak.
Leak can be in the air tube from MAF sensor to intake or a vacuum leak in the intake manifold.
PCV Valves hoses are common leak points as the get brittle and crack.
And as said above, low fuel pressure will cause the same Lean codes, 2000 Ranger should have 65psi at the fuel rail, many auto parts stores loan or rent fuel pressure gauges.
