Icon5 03 3.0 valve cover gasket..help!

Hey I’m new here! Just bought a cheap ranger from a friend with 264k miles running strong with a 5speed manual and i love it! Only problem is it has a oil leak from the valve covers and it’s a little bad so I gotta replace it... I’ve already got some parts but I’m not 100%sure if they’re the right ones...
so ive got a
VS 50374 R FEL-PRO valve cover gasket set
and also a....
MS 94429 FEL-PRO Intake manifold plenum kit...
should this be all I need to do the install?

Also is there any good threads/videos on doing the install or the bolt torque specs and what not?

Thanks guys!

I used the same FelPro parts you listed and it worked out fine. Just Google the subject it's not difficult just take your time and clean things as you go. Good luck

Might wanna pick up the valve cover bolt grommets as well while you're doing the job. They're cheap, and keeps you from having to do the job twice if they end up leaking as well. One box does one valve cover, so you'll need two boxes.

The valve cover gaskets I have do have grommets that go around the bolts built into the gasket.... or are you talking about the ones that come off the top of the valve cover?? Do you have a part number if so??

I only put gasket sealer on the sections where the intake manifold meets the cylinder head. Otherwise the gasket will be sufficient.

You are correct, the gaskets in my link go to the bolts on top of the valve cover.

Word of advice from someone who has done this, if you pull the plastic upper intake plenum completely off, check the PCV elbow at the back of the plenum for cracks. All Ranger PCV elbows are prone to crack, and that is where the 3.0 cracks. Ford issued an updated PCV elbow for this (with webbing to prevent flexing), so if yours is cracked, I would look into picking it up.
